This maple sherry vinaigrette is a sweet and tangy dressing that is sure to add loads of flavor to any salad.
If you are stuck in a salad dressing rut, I’ve got just the recipe for you to try: maple sherry vinaigrette.
Back in the day, I used to buy exclusively store-bought dressings. I would always be slightly disappointed in the flavors, compared to the yummy salads that I would order out at restaurants.
Somewhere along the way, I started buying those Italian dressing seasoning packets and mixing them with some oil and vinegar at home. You remember the little glass mixing jars those came with? I still have mine! Those were a little tastier, but I was still a little weirded out by all the mystery ingredients on the package.
And then one day I was watching Food Network, and I saw somebody (Rachael Ray, I think?) making a simple vinaigrette. And I thought to myself. Hey! That looks easy…I can totally do that. And I have never looked back. I cannot remember the last time I bought pre-made dressing.
It kind of became an obsession, actually. I would taste something at a restaurant and think…I have to try and recreate this at home!
If you want to take a look at a few of the made-from-scratch dressings I have published here on the blog, you can check out the Dressing, Dips and Sauces section of my recipe page.
Now! Back to this particular maple sherry vinaigrette dressing recipe.
With fall in full swing, I am having so much fun incorporating ALL the fall flavors into all of my food. Maple syrup was my inspiration for this dressing. Fall is the perfect time to make it. But honestly, I would enjoy this any time of year. Especially since my local Costco sells the giant jugs of organic 100% maple syrup. YUM!
I made this to put on a fall salad (<- coming soon to the blog…stay tuned!), but I think it would be good on just about any salad.
